Community to serve 70 people with memory-impairing conditions, such as Alzheimer’s and Parkinson’s

BREA, CA – Silverado breaks ground on a new memory care community at 149 W. Lambert Road. Silverado Brea, a nearly 34,000 square foot, two-story community, is expected to open Summer 2019, featuring innovative design to serve up to 70 people living with Alzheimer’s, dementia and other memory-impairing conditions. This opening marks the fourth Silverado community in Orange County. 200 people will work on the project through its development, and once fully operational, the community will create 70 new healthcare jobs.

Site Dedication festivities take place on Tuesday, July 31, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. and will include brief remarks, a champagne toast and photo opportunities. Mayor Glenn Parker will be in attendance, joined with Brea city officials and Silverado leadership to celebrate the community.

“What’s most significant about this site dedication is that it represents new hope for local families affected by dementia and Alzheimer’s, where they can experience our innovative model of care that includes our prominent NEXUS® brain-health program,” shares Silverado President, Chairman and CEO Loren Shook.  “Our industry-leading clinical outcomes model, paired with Silverado’s skilled and compassionate associates, are at the forefront of changing the way the world cares for people with cognitive decline.”

The $12 million community is being constructed on 1.15 acres, and will include state-of-the-art design elements, including skylights and sunrooms to draw in natural light and warmth, and comfortable spaces for social interaction. Also incorporated into the design are a coffeehouse style bistro, beauty salon, country store, and spa. The large outdoor courtyard, with its covered patios and walkways, will encourage residents to move freely among the gardens.

Silverado is working with local teams Douglas Pancake Architects and Snyder Langston. For ongoing updates, visit silverado.com/brea.
