My family had utilized Silverado -Lake Zurich for periodic respite care during 2012 to give my father a break from caring for my mother who has Alzheimer's.
In 2013, my 90-year-old mother became a full-time resident at the loving facility. She is thriving in the warm and comfortable home-like atmosphere, and has become more active, social, independent and takes less medication. I have been able to participate in many enriching outings with her, creating memories I will always cherish.
My observation is that Silverado selectively hires only professional caring, loving, dedicated and enthusiastic employees who want to make a difference in the lives of those affected by memory impairing diseases.
The leadership team is genuine - serving, listening, caring. They compassionately guide families through their loved one's journey, acting as a solid and steady lighthouse along the way. Many times the staff at Silverado was our 'go to' consultant, providing comfort, advice, reassurance, solutions and love.
Just recently, my 91-year-old father also became a full-time resident at the Lake Zurich facility for his end-of-life care. Silverado opened their hearts and doors so that our parents could be together during this difficult time.
Silverado's model of care is to give LIFE (Love, Innovation, Family, Engagement) to residents. I spend many hours visiting my parents and witness this creed in action every day. They have touched the human spirit of my parents...and my family.
Without hesitation, I would highly recommend Silverado for your loved one.
