My dad has been at Silverado for the past 9 months. He lived in an independent living community after my mother passed away in 2010. He had mild dementia when he moved in but in a short few years he began to have outbursts that were most likely related to his memory starting to fail.
I was referred to Silverado.Since he moved in, he has thrived. Silverado provides him a very structured living environment where he is seldom, if ever, alone.
The community provides him with social activity and the kind of stimulation that keeps him engaged. The caretakers are nurturing and help him with his daily living habits including bathing, dressing and eating.
And best of all, if ever there is a health concern or even emergency, their nurses are able to handle it and transport him with caregivers to any doctor appointment or hospital. His move to Silverado has given both my sister and I peace of mind and allowed us to feel comfortable that he is taken care, Best of all, it has allowed us to focus on our own lives knowing that he is in great hands.
