Looking Back on 2013: A Letter From Silverado CEO Loren Shook
We at Silverado are privileged to have served more than 6,000 people and their families in 2013. We were also able to serve each other as associates of Silverado, improving the lives of all three groups. This year, our company grew from 36 service locations to 45 service locations (30 memory care communities, nine hospice offices and six home care offices) across eight states. More importantly, we grew our team of passionate, committed and caring staff to 3,400 associates.
In the midst of a record-setting year that allows us to serve even more people in the future, we completed a very in-depth market analysis for each of our markets and found more information about what families, professionals and fellow associates want to see from us. We learned that Silverado is among the most trusted brands when compared to our top competitors in each market.
This is a result of the commitment and passion of our many associates and partners, and we are eternally grateful to be able to join forces with them in our quest to deliver life-changing care to all of our residents, patients and clients.
Most of all, we are thankful for the thousands of families who entrust their loved one’s care to Silverado across all 45 locations every day.
We also learned from our market study that our customers prefer not to use the word “senior” or anything having to do with age. Personally, as I get a year older each year, I get that point! When Steve, Jim and I started the company in 1996, we started as memory care assisted living, and now we operate home care and hospice services too; so the reference to “senior living” no longer reflects who we are. We changed our name to “Silverado,” updated our logo, changed our color scheme to a deep rich blue and launched a new, updated website. Check us out at www.silveradocare.com!
