Silverado Walks to End Alzheimer's
Imagine if every step you took brought us a step closer towards finding a cure for Alzheimer’s. That’s the idea behind the Alzheimer’s Association’s Walk to End Alzheimer’s, and this past fall Silverado communities and offices across the country participated in the walks. Each year, the Walk to End Alzheimer’s raises more than $50 million to help increase awareness for the disease.*
One example of Silverado’s united approach to raising awareness is the combined efforts of our Bay Area At Home office and the Silverado Belmont Hills community. These locations joined together to participate in the Walk to End Alzheimer’s in San Francisco, CA. The time and energy given by the Silverado team of associates, friends and families is one of the many ways Silverado supports the Alzheimer’s Association.
Weeks prior to the walk, the Silverado Belmont Hills community hosted an Art Fair to raise money for the cause. Art pieces created by our residents and their loved ones were available as auction items during the event, which was attended by family members, friends and community supporters. The Art Fair was a success with more than $3,000 in donations raised to support the Alzheimer’s Association and their research efforts.
Silverado associates spend every moment working to enrich the lives of those who have been affected by memory impairment. At Silverado, we also encourage all of our families to get involved, whether it is participating in walks or simply sharing a story with a friend.
