Silverado Medical Directors Meet for Annual Conference
Physician Medical Directors gather to discuss the latest research and practices in memory care
Last week more than 40 medical experts gathered for Silverado’s yearly conference to discuss the latest brain health research related to neurodegenerative disorders such as Alzheimer’s disease, Parkinson’s disease and Lewy-body dementia.
Highlights from this year’s event, included:
- Updates on Alzheimer's Treatment and Research: From world-renowned neurologist and researcher Dr. Jeffrey Cummings, who serves as Director of the Cleveland Clinic Lou Ruvo Center for Brain Health
- A discussion titled Parkinson’s Disease: New Strategies for Advanced Disease: Led by Dr. Leo Verhagen of Rush University focusing on how best to treat and care for individuals affected by Parkinson’s disease or other movement disorders
- Updates on Research Collaborations: From the University of Southern California’s Dr. Konis, who is studying the effects of light on people with dementia, and an update regarding an Alzheimer’s collaborate study lead by Dr. Murray Raskin from the University of Washington School of Medicine
