Testimonial: "These extraordinary individuals on the frontline at Silverado show the heart we were looking for..."
"Yesterday when I was at Silverado, one of the lead caregivers gave my mother a personalized manicure, just because my mom really needed a lift. I then saw one of the maintenance workers help a resident to his feet and, in so doing, gave him a big hug that produced an even bigger smile. When I wheeled my mother past the dining room, one of the culinary aids gave my mother such a friendly wave that my mom directed me to her, so she could give this lovely woman a kiss. And, one of the nurses, situated at the first-floor station, patiently and lovingly explained to a resident seated there that it wasn't quite yet lunchtime, but he could keep her company until then, at which time she'll bring him to dining room. That was 15 minutes at Silverado.
My mother is going on year four at Silverado and is grateful, happy, and somehow thriving at age 89. My father only got to be at Silverado for a few weeks but, because of the loving care he received, he had an appropriate, meaningful end of life.
These extraordinary individuals on the frontline at Silverado show the heart we were looking for in deciding where best for Mom and Dad to live, giving us real hope that our parents could again live lives, not only where they were kept safe, but of significant meaning and engagement. It was as if a light had been turned on for our family, which had dimmed and had been getting dimmer over the past few years.
I thank the Silverado family for what they give and who they are. I encourage you to consider Silverado for your loved ones."
