Testimonial: "I knew that Silverado Tustin Hacienda Memory Care was the right place for my husband, after my first walk through..."
"I knew that Silverado Tustin Hacienda Memory Care was the right place for my husband, after my first walk through. It stood out as being so different from skilled nursing facilities, or assisted living homes that I had seen. The size & layout of the building has its advantages from much larger facilities.
I was given a referral list of places to see, when my husband was ready to leave the skilled nursing facility where he needed to be for about three weeks. Silverado was close to our home, & my mother had been there in 1992 before it was purchased by Silverado. It was called Tustin Hacienda at the time.
It was quite a pleasant surprise to see the makeover, done by Silverado. Silverado's furnishings have a traditional look that have a lot of warmth. Resident's rooms were decorated with some of their own personal items, to make it feel like their very own room.
I was introduced to many staff members, as Hailey Saldutti, the Family Ambassador, took me on the tour. I was impressed with how friendly everyone was, & now, many months later, I can tell you that it was all sincere. The team at Silverado, is young, energetic, & will do everything possible to help with each new problem, as it occurs.
Sometimes we try to care for our loved ones longer than we should, in our homes. As I observe the care that is given by caregivers, the medication dispensed by the nurses, & knowing that they are always there to assist with the things that happen daily, I know that my decision was the right one. I was able to sleep well at night, take care of my own health, & could visit often.
The activity calendar is amazing! It's fun to go along on some of the Monday outings. There are daily activities designed for almost everyone. Special holidays are always celebrated, near the date, so families can join in to be with their loved ones.
The Family Connection meetings are something that I look forward to. We share our experiences with others who understand what it feels like to lose a loved one to dementia. I always leave feeling better. There is also a monthly lunch or dinner meeting, hosted by Silverado, as they care about our well being too.
I am grateful to Silverado Tustin Memory Care for their help in making our journey with dementia so much easier than I thought it could possibly be. And, as I mourn my husband's death, Silverado's Family Connections Group is still there to support me."
