"Choosing a community for a loved one is never easy. You want to make the right decision without finding a reason to look back. I never had to look back. My decision to place my beloved mother at Silverado was without any doubt, the right one. The kindness, the compassion, the caring and all the with maintaining my mother's dignity to the greatest degree. The simple touches, the holding of her hand, brushing her hair, I am sure gave her a sense of comfort. When my mother passed away, I was truly brought to tears by the compassion I felt from the staff present that day.
For myself, I came to think of Silverado as my second home, and the staff as an extension of my own family. Every time I visited Mother, the moment I entered the building, I felt this sense of comfort and serenity, which was difficult as I watch my mother being consumed by this horrific disease we call Alzheimer's. A sense of calmness would come over me as I sat with her, and felt the compassion of the staff. Coming to know the other residents and their families, to know that we were all in this together, was tremendously therapeutic for me.
I give to all of you, my heartfelt thank you, for taking such beautiful care of my beloved mother."
