Testimonial: "The Silverado team was my family’s lighthouse during these difficult and uncertain times."
"Like many families, we knew that Mom’s condition was changing and she increasingly required more assistance. My Dad was her primary caregiver and he began to feel the stress of his role. I convinced him to enroll Mom in Silverado’s flex care program to provide him scheduled breaks, and to introduce Mom into a loving environment away from home. She adjusted very well and eagerly joined in the activities at ‘her club’, the term we used for her days apart from Dad.
During this time, my father’s health began to decline, requiring us to utilize Silverado for my mother’s respite stays. These emergency stays were never planned; they just happened. The Silverado team was my family’s lighthouse during these difficult and uncertain times. It was such a relief and comfort to know that with a single phone call, Mom had a loving, extended family welcoming her into their home. This allowed me to focus on my father’s needs, knowing Mom was receiving excellent care.
After a year of flex and respite care, my Mom became a full-time resident at the Lake Zurich community. She continues to thrive in the warm and comfortable home-like atmosphere. She is engaged in activities and receives loving care. In addition, I have participated in many outings and activities with Mom, creating memories I will always cherish.
When it was time, my father also became a full-time resident at the Lake Zurich facility for his end-of-life care. Silverado opened their hearts and doors so that my parents could be together during this extremely difficult time. This is just one example of Silverado’s commitment to families.
My observation is that Silverado selectively hires only caring, loving, dedicated and enthusiastic associates who want to make a difference in the lives of those affected by memory impairing diseases. The leadership team is genuine—serving, listening, caring. They compassionately guide families through their loved one’s journey, acting as a solid and steady lighthouse along the way. Many times the staff at Silverado is my ‘go to’ consultant providing comfort, advice, reassurance, solutions and love."
Everything they do is focused toward enriching the quality of life for residents and their families. Silverado recognizes the value of the human spirit and believes that memory impairment does not mean the end of a purposeful, rich life. I spend many hours visiting my Mom and witness this commitment every day. They touched the human spirit of my Dad…and continue to touch mine and my Mom’s as she progresses through her disease.
Silverado’s mission-- to provide the highest quality of care and support to those with memory impairment--requires the compassion and dedication of their entire organization. Their success is ultimately defined by the satisfaction of those whose lives they touch, such as mine. I believe you will not be disappointed if you choose Silverado for your loved one."
