Silverado Associate Honored with LeadingAge's Strive and Thrive Award
Carah Loiacono, Business Office Manager at Silverado Naperville, has been selected as a LeadingAge Strive and Thrive Award. LeadingAge recognizes Carah for her passion and dedication to helping others and enriching residents' lives.
As a member of the front desk staff, Carah takes on added responsibility whenever she can and is always eager to learn new things. Currently, she works full time and at the age of 19 and is taking classes to be an Administrator!
Carah is often the first person that guests meet. She is especially kind to job applicants who applied for a position at this community. She ensures that the applicants are not just another applicant but rather our next associate. As a member of the front desk staff, she has expressed a deep desire to learn all areas of business within the community. As a result, she has been an incredible asset in organizing and implementing our Two Day New Associate Orientation program.
Because of her accuracy and sensitivity to privacy, she has gained the trust of many of her co-workers. Carah is able to help associates quickly and successfully get hired. She has help create systems for successful on-boarding, background checks, and I9 completions. This is above and beyond her job description!
Carah is responsible for answering the phones, greeting guests, calming and redirecting residents with memory loss. But because of her dedication to the community, she is always there to support those departments that need help. For instance, when the laundry department was behind three days of laundry with no end in sight, this individual stepped in to help separate, clean and deliver residents' clothes. In addition, when a resident needed a companion to take her to her grand-daughter's wedding 30 miles away and there was no available staff to go with her, she stepped up and took care of all the details including hair, make-up, altering the resident's dress and attending the wedding festivities with the resident!
