"Paws for a Cause"
In honor of Second Chance Farm (SCF), a nonprofit animal rescue in Granbury that cared for many of Silverado's pet ambassadors before we adopted them, we held a celebratory fundraiser event on July 24th. We were hoping to reach our goal to donate to this wonderful organization, and with your help, we did! We raised over $2400 which helped pay for SCF's Canine Cabin, a cabin for the lifelong SCF animals that won't be adopted due to their special needs.
In case you missed it, Second Chance Farm is always looking for donated toddler beds that become the beds for rescued dogs in their dog cabins. They also can always use cash donations, storage sheds, (to be repainted and repurposed into dog cabins), and volunteers.
Our event consisted of many carnival-style events and games that made it a fun evening to be a part of. Attendees enjoyed delicious food prepared by our own Chef Dewey while listening to a live bluegrass band. An ice cream cart was ready to serve up the flavors and toppings you like, and there were silent auction items to bid on.
Second Chance Farm brought in some of their pets they have for adoption, and some that are in the process of rehabbing for adoption at a later time, like Doodlebug, who had her own kissing booth. Doodlebug definitely loved her job that night!
Our own Champ, the bulldog, had his own fortune telling booth. We were honored to be a part of a fun event, which our own pet ambassadors asked us to "paws for a cause" that was worthy to them and our community.
