A Night To Remember - Valentine’s Day 2014
On Valentine’s Day last month, Silverado Valley Ranch hosted a beautiful couples dinner for all of our residents and their significant others. It was a perfect night to cherish loved ones by remembering the good times they shared.
With help from the Silverado Valley Ranch staff, seven couples enjoyed a romantic four-course candlelight dinner prepared by Silverado Chef Garnett Watson and his culinary team. Allison Jones, Director of Resident Engagement, served each of the couples fine wine, chicken parmesan with rigatoni and delicious red velvet cake. To perfect the romantic ambiance, world-renowned classical guitarist Joseph Sullinger played classic love songs throughout the evening.
Each of the couples spent the night reminiscing and enjoying the presence of their loved ones in a romantic setting. One special couple, both of whom reside in the community, took the opportunity to celebrate their 69th wedding anniversary. After dinner, romantic photos were taken and given to each couple as a memento of the night.
Silverado Valley Ranch truly hosted a night to remember as each couple expressed their unconditional love. Administrator Brad Watson explains, “Despite the sorrow and feelings of loss that accompany the journey of Alzheimer’s disease and other forms of dementia, these loving spouses continually show patience, compassion, tenderness and love. The spouses who attended this event are in the community nearly every day to visit with their loved one. This Valentine’s dinner was a way for them to enjoy each other’s company in a way they were used to doing in the past.”
