A Wedding at Silverado?
Have you seen the wedding dress? Did you wonder if one of our engagement associates is planning a wedding?
Our Silverado Valley Ranch Resident Engagement Team provides many activities and clubs. As a part of the Nexus Brain Fitness Social Program, residents are offered specialized programing including: physical activity, stress reduction, social clubs with purposeful activity, cognitive compensation strategies, brain fitness, and support groups.
The Wedding Club is a program which incorporates many of these elements. Residents are presented with props associated with weddings: a wedding gown, bouquet, a ring, music, etc. According to Valley Ranch Director of Resident Engagement, Mollie Pollard, “These items help to spark the imagination and creativity. Residents can try on the wedding ring or plan a wedding with event planning materials from wedding vendors.” Mollie hopes to add a Tuxedo to incorporate the men in our community as well as wedding cake making, decorating and tasting.
During one Wedding Club meeting, a resident got up, left the group, went to her room and came back with her wedding photograph. She was so excited to tell everyone about her wedding!
