"Thank you for creating such a wonderful place..."

"I would like to give you feedback about the wonderful experience our family enjoyed at the Silverado Plano.  Our mother, JoAnne Moore became a resident of Silverado Plano in October 2013.  We transferred her there after a very poor experience at another assisted living/memory care facility in Dallas.  We had moved our mother into that other property from a senior independent living facility in July of 2013 and our experience could not have been worse.  We encountered a management team and caregivers who were not knowledgeable about dementia care.  Despite being in a memory care unit, the care was so poor that we hired private, 24 hour caregivers for our mother.

Thankfully, we made the decision in late September to try another facility.  Silverado came highly recommended to us by several sources, but we were worried about transitioning her to yet another new, unfamiliar place.  It quickly became obvious to us that choosing Silverado Plano was the very best decision we ever made in caring for our mom.

The management team and entire staff was knowledgeable, compassionate and always totally committed to doing the best for JoAnne and our family.  I can say honestly that we are not an easy family to please.  My brothers and I all live close by, and we had family members in and out frequently at random times visiting.  Never once did we encounter a situation that caused us concern, but rather, we were all totally in awe of the ability of the staff to care for each resident in such a capable, loving manner.

The management team and staff created an environment that allowed us to enjoy fun, joyful times with our mother despite her declining physical and cognitive abilities.  The medical care that she received was also wonderful.   Catrina and the nursing team did a wonderful job of managing her pain and making adjustments to her routine as she declined. In May, they recommended beginning hospice care and we then became engaged with the wonderful Silverado Hospice team, including Holly, the hospice nurse.  Again, we could not have been happier with their knowledge, compassion, and guidance.

JoAnne passed away at Silverado Plano on July 15th.  Although her final months of life were difficult for her and our family, we cannot imagine how much more difficult it would have been without the help of everyone at Silverado Plano and Silverado Hospice.  We will always be grateful for the care, compassion, and love each and every staff member provided to our mother.  Thank you for creating such a wonderful place.  We will recommend your facility to everyone we come in contact with who is looking for excellent care for a loved one.

Best regards,

Kathy T."
