Preserving Access to Specialized Memory Care in the South Bay
Silverado has proudly served this community for nearly 20 years, providing specialized memory care for individuals living with dementia and being a significant economic contributor to the Beach Cities Health District (BCHD) mission. Silverado’s program is recognized as world class by professionals and acknowledged as such by BCHD Board members at their March meeting. Families rate Silverado with a world class 90 Net Promoter score per US News and World Report. Silverado staff rate Silverado as the best of all assisted living aging services companies in California, per Fortune Magazine’s Great Places to Work program.
A proposal is currently being considered that would eliminate Silverado’s one-of-a-kind services. Now is the time for your voice to be heard to keep these critical services in the Beach Cities.
We invite you to support maintaining Silverado’s specialized memory care in our community by sharing your perspective with the local leaders who are helping shape this decision. Your voice matters!

(We encourage you to add a personal sentence or two about your loved one or your experience—your unique story is what makes the greatest impact)
Dear [Board Member/City Council Member/Planning Commissioner],
I am writing to respectfully urge you to reconsider the current agreement that excludes the trusted, proven dedicated memory care community, Silverado Beach Cities, from the Beach Cities Health District’s redevelopment plan removing these services from Redondo Beach and the South Bay communities.
South Bay families urgently need access to specialized memory care close to home. Alzheimer’s disease and other dementias require a level of care, safety, and expertise that only Silverado, a purpose-built memory care community, has proven it provides. Silverado’s serves residents other memory care operators cannot serve and has the best evidence based clinical outcomes in the South Bay. Less than 4% Emergency room visitation rate compared to other operators at over 20%. Without local options, families are often forced to place loved ones far from their support systems during an already difficult time or wind up with their loved one in facilities over medicated and in and out of the emergency room.
Please support solutions that prioritize the health, dignity, and well-being of those living with memory impairment and the families who care for them. The continuation of Silverado’s dedicated memory care community on the BCHD campus is essential to continue the services to the current 100 residents, their families and the hundreds to follow. World class memory care is a present and growing need in our community, let’s not lose it!
Sincerely,
[Your Name]
