Nexus at Silverado

Building brain health every day.

Developed more than ten years ago, Nexus at Silverado is our brain health program for residents in the early stages of memory impairment. It is designed to intentionally stimulate and support brain health throughout each day, where every interaction has purpose and contributes to cognitive wellness.

The science

The Brain Can Continue to Adapt

Research shows the hippocampus, the brain’s center for learning and memory, responds positively to exercise, meaningful relationships, learning, purpose, healthy nutrition, quality sleep, and new experiences.

These are not simply activities. They are powerful ways to keep the brain active and engaged, and they are the foundation Nexus is built on.

60%

Improvement in Cognition

Participants in Nexus at Silverado showed a statistically significant 60% improvement in cognition compared to those without such treatment, validated by academic research.

The Five Pillars of Nexus

Nexus intentionally stimulates the brain every day through five research-grounded pillars.

  1. Physical Exercise
Movement that supports both body and brain
  2. Stress Reduction
Calm, structure, and reassurance built into each day
  3. Cognitive Engagement
    Learning, challenge, and novelty
  4. Purposeful Social Activities
    Connection that means something
  5. Support Groups
Community among residents walking the same road

Every conversation. Every activity. Every relationship. Every moment has purpose.

Life in Nexus

An Active, Full Life

Nexus supports an active, brain-healthy lifestyle for individuals living with the early stages of dementia. Community excursions and planned activities keep residents engaged and social, while living spaces rich in amenities give them a place to live their best lives.

Nexus by day. Memory Air by night.

Brain Health Doesn’t Stop at Night

Nexus fills the day with purposeful engagement. Memory Air continues that support while residents sleep, delivering gentle, natural scent stimulation during the hours when the brain organizes memories, strengthens connections, and clears natural waste. Silverado is the first memory care provider in the United States to include Memory Air as part of its model of care for residents in the early-stage Nexus program.

Together, Nexus by day and Memory Air by night form a continuous 24-hour approach to brain health that no other memory care provider currently offers as part of its everyday model of care.
