Silverado’s ‘The Loft’ opens on Hayworth Ave.

Beverly Press – March 31, 2016 – A new urban living concept recently opened on March 24 aimed at delaying the onset of dementia to help keep residents connected to Los Angeles’ vibrant lifestyle.

The Loft, a new center developed by dementia care pioneer Silverado, offers daily brain health programming in a convenient setting. Pictured at the grand opening ceremony are Melissa Andrizzi-Sobel (left), Silverado administrator; Dr. David Trader, Silverado medical director; Michelle Egerer, Silverado senior vice president of community operations; Loren Shook, Silverado CEO and chair; Councilman Paul Koretz, 5th District; Shamim Wu, Silverado president; and Yael Wyte, program director for The Loft.

The Loft, located at 330 N. Hayworth Ave., serves people 55 and over who are concerned about maintaining healthy brains and staving off possible dementia. The Loft assists people with mild cognitive impairment, a family history of the disease and others looking for a sustained research-based program of cognitive fitness in an independent living environment.

“The Loft’s programming is structured on research from some of the nation’s top universities that shows there are modifiable lifestyle factors that may slow the progression of dementia,” Wyte said. “Over the past year, our company’s memory care communities have been incorporating this research into their environments, and The Loft is an extension of that effort. It can best be described as urban, active brain- healthy living.”
