Professor Presents on Nexus® Findings at Major Dementia Conference

Study reports promising results of the program’s benefits

Dr. Mette Andresen, PhD, Professor, University College Absalon, Denmark, and National Expert on Dementia Research and Dignity within Elder Care, gave an important poster presentation on the Nexus at Silverado Program at the 2018 Alzheimer’s Disease International Conference. Silverado’s Kathy Greene, MSW, Senior Vice President, Programs and Services Integration and Kim Butrum, MS, RN, GNP, Senior Vice President, Clinical Services, presented alongside Dr. Andresen to provide insight into the program’s content and development.

Dr. Andresen presented her review of the Nexus at Silverado strength-based brain health program and the improvements in cognition and function that have been observed in participating residents. Nexus has received global attention for its focus on slowing the effects of dementia on those living with mild cognitive impairment based on the latest clinical findings.

The conference, which hosts more than 1,000 delegates from over 60 countries, serves as a resource for medical professionals, researchers, professional & family caregivers, people living with dementia, volunteers and anyone else with an interest in Alzheimer’s. Experts attend to share the latest information in medical research, care, wellness and policy related to Alzheimer’s and dementia. Attendees have a variety of dynamic presentations and workshops from which to choose, in addition to informative exhibits like the poster presentation.
