Faith Outreach with Mind Heart Soul Ministry
Part of caring for individuals with dementia is caring for their families, and to many families, spirituality plays a vital role in remaining strong for their loved ones.
The Mind Heart Soul Ministry is one way we help, offering access to information, resources, pastoral care and training related to the care of individuals with memory impairment.
Mind Heart Soul Ministry is led by Vic Mazmanian, a longtime Alzheimer’s advocate and speaker who uses his personal insights and knowledge about the disease process and caregiving with Alzheimer’s based on experience as a primary caregiver for his mother, Alice. Vic believes that faith and education are indispensable tools for the journey of dementia, so Mind Heart Soul’s mission includes seminars, support groups, and individual consultation to educate on the progression of memory decline and outline steps to take in maintaining or enhancing quality of life.
Ministry events feature speakers that encompass the spectrum of memory care professionals, from clinicians to social workers to representatives of nonprofit groups such as the Alzheimer’s Association. The ministry’s events are hosted at a variety of different places, from senior centers to some of the largest churches in the country!
