Changing More Lives Through Culture and Growth
PEOPLE ARE AT THE HEART OF SILVERADO’S MISSION, and telling stories of lives enriched is an integral part of our culture. Everyone has a story, and we are committed to sharing with the world that a diagnosis of dementia or other life-limiting illness does not mean the end of one’s story — rather a new chapter in a story that continues to unfold with purpose, meaning and achievement.
Over the past 21 years, we have provided care to more than 50,000 people. To be a part of their stories is both a privilege and inspiring! So inspiring that, as Silverado co-founders, Steve Winner and I recently completed an updated edition of our book, New Possibilities in Memory Care: The Silverado Story.
This book was written to give strength to families affected by Alzheimer’s and other memory-impairing conditions. It also demonstrates the latest in memory care innovation to healthcare professionals and other leaders whose influence can have an exponential effect on changing lives. In fact, I just spoke to a CEO of an assisted living company in Puerto Rico and he shared with me that our book is required reading for all of his administrators and executives!
Today, our teams are as committed as ever to creating environments and experiences that touch the human spirit.
Our key ingredient for success is culture, and our ability to shape it without losing its core essence. Because culture is critical to the underlying success of Silverado, it is something we will remain laser-focused on this year.
At Silverado, we are frequently asked to provide Silverado services for memory care, hospice and home care across the US and in many different countries as well. However since we started the company 21 years ago we are committed to grow the company at a controlled pace with the right leaders in place — leaders who live our culture and inspire others to embrace it.
As we look to the year ahead, we are excited to now be providing hospice care in Chicago, where overwhelming requests from healthcare professionals, Silverado associates and families empowered us to begin serving the area. And with much anticipation, our new memory care community in Alexandria, VA is set to open this April — expanding our reach to eight states and marking our first community on the East Coast!
Improving quality of life for residents, clients, patients, associates and all of their families is core to our culture. Whether we’re helping a memory-impaired resident or client find their purpose, creating a lasting memory between a hospice patient and their family or providing a meaningful career to an associate, our goal is to enrich every life we touch.
Silverado will always be a place where people can live their story. Thank you for being a part of ours as we continue to change lives!
