Imani Simmons

Imani brings more than a decade of experience in physical therapy and seven years of specialized memory care education to her role as Community Ambassador at Silverado Barton Springs. As a licensed Physical Therapist Assistant, Certified Dementia Practitioner and Certified Montessori Dementia Care Professional, she is deeply committed to supporting individuals living with memory loss—and those who care for them—through compassion, education and meaningful connection. Imani’s unique approach blends clinical expertise with Montessori-based practices, perfectly aligning with Silverado’s mission of normalization: honoring each resident with dignity, purpose and respect.

Imani is a sought-after speaker who has presented widely on topics including hydration, fall prevention, emotional connection in care and the role of happiness in dementia support. Her presentation highlights include co-presenting at the Alzheimer’s Association Caregiver Conference, delivering annual guest lectures on “Dementia 101” for the Austin Community College PTA Program and leading a 2024 continuing education session for the Capital Area District of the Texas Physical Therapy Association.

Outside of Silverado, Imani enjoys swimming, dancing, martial arts and spending time with her loved ones and four dogs.
