“Compared to other memory care residences in the area, Silverado is clearly above the rest. I sleep well at night knowing my family member is safe and receiving quality and specialized care.”

“My mom said it felt like home when she walked in the door. We love the staff and the family feeling.”

“I searched for locations that I would move in myself if I needed this type of care, and Silverado came the top of my list. I feel my loved one gets lots of love and hugs and conversation and care and respect and dignity.”

    Why choose Silverado?

    Open/close panel
    Open/close panel

Many families shared the peace of mind they experienced when they finally chose Silverado after wrestling with feelings of guilt that comes from deciding to reach out for help. Even a family working together cannot replicate what an expert team of professionals who do this for a living and get to go home at night and rest can provide. Even superhuman strength eventually gives out. Once families make a move to Silverado and see that their loved one is better off and they can sleep again, the common refrain is, “I should have moved my loved one in earlier.” They are relieved to be the daughter, son, husband, or wife again and not the caregiver.

We want to reassure you that we understand that no one knows your loved one more than you do. We are the experts in what we do, having led the way in memory care for over 20 years. Families have shared they recognized that a delay in placement is a delay in care in treating this illness, and we know that a delay can result in a dangerous crisis for the exhausted caregiver or your loved one. Do not wait for an emergency. We invite you to give us a call at (913) 490-5035 and schedule a time to visit Silverado Overland Park.

In fact, we’re so confident that Silverado is the best choice to provide for your loved one’s needs we offer a satisfaction pledge unequaled in memory care.

We look forward to meeting you soon.

    Carrie Hassinger

    Director of Health Services

Carrie brings a diverse background to Silverado, including 18 years of experience as a surgical nurse, 15 years in leadership roles and five years as a traveling nurse educator. She holds a BGS in Human Development and Family Life from the University of Kansas and previously worked as a paralegal.

In nursing school, Carrie discovered a love for surgery and eagerly began her career. Yet, over time, her work felt like “just a job,” missing the personal fulfillment she had hoped for. Watching her grandparents, now in their 90s, struggle to stay in their home and search for suitable care, Carrie realized her true calling: working with the elderly, caring for them as she would her own family. Today, she feels fulfilled, knowing she’s where she’s meant to be—providing compassionate care to seniors in the place she now calls home.

In her free time, Carrie enjoys wine tasting, visiting the beach, snorkeling and reading. Happily married with two children and a schnoodle, she also enjoys cheering on her son at soccer and basketball games and watching her daughter at dance recitals.

As the Family Ambassador, Alicia enjoys her work in equipping families and those living with memory impairment with the tools and resources necessary to cope with the difficult journey. She hopes to serve as a knowledge resource about memory impairment and help loved ones find and sustain connections through the stages of the disease.

On the weekends, Alicia enjoys playing pickleball with her husband, mother and mother-in-law. She also spends her weekends shooting events and photo sessions for the professional photography business she owns alongside her husband.
