🐰 We had an amazing night!! 🐰

Thank you to everyone who came out to spend the evening having Easter dinner with us. A huge thank you to the Easter Bunny as well, for spending the evening with us!!

Jimmy, his team and Michelle made the BEST barbeque spread. The banana pudding may need to be a permanent dessert for our events.

☕ Nothing beats a fresh cup of joe!! ☕

The whole community smells AMAZING on Wednesday morning when NEXUS makes their french press coffee!! They grind their own beans, mix in their flavoring of choice and enjoy some great conversation or sing songs together over a fresh cup. This has become one of their favorite clubs as of recent!

See What Families and Professionals are Saying

I will be eternally grateful for Silverado Barton Springs and all the love they showed to my daughter, Elizabeth Grim.

Elizabeth is the oldest of my four children. She has an exceedingly rare mitochondrial disease and her primary symptoms are brain atrophy and dementia. She was a 19 year old college sophomore on academic scholarship at Rhodes college when she had a seizure that made us aware of an underlying condition. We spend a year in and out of hospitals before receiving a diagnosis and with that clarity that there was no treatment for her.

We entered a search to help her live her best life for what remained. She started at Stewart Home and School were she spent her days riding horses, painting, participating in special olympic sports and working for the Kentucky legislature. While working there she received Kentucky’s highest civilian honor of “Kentucky Colonel” from the governor of Kentucky.

After two years at Stewart Home her condition had become so acute that we needed to bring her back close to home in Austin.

We met a dozen care facilities in Austin. We wanted her to have the best care possible for what we expected to be a very short life. After visiting everything Austin had to offer we hoped Silverado would take her. The staff there took a chance on her. She is not the typical client. Silverado took a risk and I remember crying in the library as they told me they would take care of her.

Elizabeth showed up at Silverado in a desperate state. She was 22 years old, weighed 104 pounds (at over 5′ 9″ tall) and was frequently upset and confused. She spent nearly 2 years at that campus. She LOVED it. She was loved, fulfilled and well cared for. She has now “graduated” to Marbridge foundation in Austin. She has much more access to activities and is able to enjoy horses and sports again. Your staff can tell you I cried and cried as we left Silverado. I thought that was the last place she would live. I thought her life would be measured in months not years.

Your staff extended her life. Your staff gave her life again. Your staff gave her love.

I really love everyone there. Special thank you to Madison, Michelle, and Letha, but everyone was beyond wonderful to my girl.

When CareFor encounters an individual who has the need for individualized dementia care, our first thought is Silverado Barton Springs. Some people drift comfortably into the need for memory care, others struggle mightily. These are the special cases where daily evaluation of care, medications, and interactions is critical to success. With 24-hour on-site nursing, we have the confidence that Silverado’s critical eye will remain focused to achieve a stability. They have been a comfort to patients, families, and professionals.

Words can hardly describe how excited I am that Silverado is back in Austin and Michelle Neumann will be its Administrator once again!  They were a lamplight to my parents and my life at a time when I had nearly given up hope. Their homelike atmosphere is real and sets it apart from any others I have seen.  For instance, their policies of allowing staff to bring their children to work and having pets that can live there all contribute to making it a ‘village.’  Families are always welcome visitors and can share meals with their loved ones.  They are even given the opportunity to get to know other families in social settings outside of Silverado.  At Silverado the care doesn’t just stop with your loved one, it includes you!

As a care manager in Austin, Texas, I am thrilled that the gold standard in dementia care is returning – Silverado.  How can a family go wrong with a company whose motto is ‘Love is greater than fear?’ I have observed countless examples of people with dementia having some unmet needs at home or other communities. When they enter Silverado, everyone gets them – housekeepers, dining servers, caregivers, nurses, etc.  They flourish in the environment!  Welcome back, Silverado!

    Why choose Silverado?

Many families shared the peace of mind they experienced when they finally chose Silverado after wrestling with feelings of guilt that comes from deciding to reach out for help. Even a family working together cannot replicate what an expert team of professionals who do this for a living and get to go home at night and rest can provide. Even superhuman strength eventually gives out. Once families make a move to Silverado and see that their loved one is better off and they can sleep again, the common refrain is, “I should have moved my loved one in earlier.” They are relieved to be the daughter, son, husband, or wife again and not the caregiver.

We want to reassure you that we understand that no one knows your loved one more than you do. We are the experts in what we do, having led the way in memory care for over 20 years. Families have shared they recognized that a delay in placement is a delay in care in treating this illness, and we know that a delay can result in a dangerous crisis for the exhausted caregiver or your loved one. Do not wait for an emergency. We invite you to give us a call at (512) 301-8747 and schedule a time to visit Silverado Barton Springs.

In fact, we’re so confident that Silverado is the best choice to provide for your loved one’s needs we offer a satisfaction pledge unequaled in memory care.

We look forward to meeting you soon.
